Ecliptic Cycles of Birth and Death

NicoleEclipseThere is newness in the air… and I’d like to share some thoughts.

I love to follow the moon cycles and the eclipse cycles. They teach me birth and death in some way. I was born in the spring, so I always feel magically rejuvenated, full of creativity. In the summer, all I want to do is play and slow down. Come September, I am ready to start up again with all the ideas I dreamed about during the heat and then the winter strikes hibernation, a time when I truly go within and reflect about what the year has brought me. Birth, death, birth, death…

Setting intentions has become a way of life over the past five years, especially at the new moon and during eclipses. I birth new ideas, the old, bad habits come up for review, I creatively construct a new reality and then more gunk comes up to clear away… birth, death, birth, death…

Anyone reading this has undoubtedly been working at a soul level for some time. Even though the understanding of my awakening took place five years ago, I know I was born with the purpose of truly stepping into my soul this time around, to unite my divinity with my physical vehicle on earth. The theme of my life has been/is LOVE. At this moment, my goal is ASCENSION (vibrationally being in a state of unconditional LOVE, amongst other definitions… but that one is mine, for now).

Every nook and cranny of my being has been rattled this lifetime around; I’ve loved with passion; I’ve had many losses and cried oceans of tears; I’ve experienced bliss and beauty of bearing children, creating art, travelling and experiencing breathtaking nature; my physical body has encountered many earthquakes through emotional trauma. Birth, death, birth, death…

It is my understanding that we are being forced to “feel” again (birth) , particularly those who have been numbed by medication, addictions etc., (death) to overcome deep, burdened fear from the constructs of the ego… It is my understanding that everything has its purpose to awaken souls to allow the process of ascension to begin NOW for those unawakened (birth).

This summer was interesting. I went through a birth and death process daily, it seems! The energy has been electric! 2016 is a “9” year, which is an ending of a cycle. So much has come up again for review, and the clearings have been so swift for me. It has almost felt like being on a roller coaster 24/7! I’ve noticed that it comes and goes so quickly now and I truly have felt much relief because nothing lingers… NOTHING! It feels oddly fortuitous. It is just not as difficult as it used to be!

September will host the last eclipse season of the year as well as the fall equinox. The energy is exhilarating! For me, this is yet another birth.

What are you birthing, creating, intending? How are you spreading love? I would truly enjoy reading what you have to proclaim!

Thank you for reading!

Life is a Gift- A Present From You!

Dancer SunlightHave you ever thought about your life as a gift?  As a one-of-a kind present given to you from your Higher Self/Higher Consciousness?  When I was young, I remember having moments of sheer excitement and joy just for being alive. There was this knowing deep inside me that another day has dawned and I have another day to live my wonderful life.  Kids love to have fun.  Each day I was seeing through a brand new lens, so each day held a new gift.  I specifically remember some pivotal magical moments in my life and they gave me great insight. As I reflect back on some of them, I see the bigger picture of my experience and how they led me back to today.

My family and I went to Walt Disney World Orlando (FL) when I was a young girl. I was young, free and looking for magic.  REAL magic. Ha, I totally believed it existed!  I LOVED every minute of Disney World and all of the characters.  I wanted to be Cinderella or Snow White.  They had it so good (that’s what the storybooks said).  They were beautiful and their lives were in perfect order.  I felt the fairytale experience and I cherished it.  I was truly hoping that the characters in Disney World itself were real, as well as the Magic Kingdom.  I was feeling the wonder of a child, the purity and fullness of the deepest depths of gratitude.  I truly believed that my dreams were coming true. I was in great awe of Cinderella’s castle and I wanted it to be my home.  I felt so free and alive. I saw the gift of the moment.

Another incredible experience was on a family camping trip to Timber Shores, located in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan.  It was the most wonderful campground on the planet and a child’s complete delight.  This campground had everything a child could want—a big lake, beaches, boating, woods to explore, horseback riding, swimming pools, beach volleyball, a teen arcade, craft classes, and a nice restaurant. Even the adults called it a dream campground. Counselors came by to lead the campers in a sing-along around the campfire.  We sang camp songs while we roasted marshmallows and made S’Mores.  I remember a pivotal moment on this trip where I felt so alive. I had been taking in all of the wonderful experiences all week long and one night my family was walking around the campgrounds just for fun. It was very dark out and there were other people out walking, too. Something inspired me get up and run. I was so giddy and I had so much excitement and energy that I couldn’t wait to move.  AlI of a sudden, I just bolted.  I ran and ran and ran… I ran as fast as I could.  I ran until I couldn’t run anymore. I was on a high and it was a high for life. I felt SO alive inside and I wished I could feel this way in every moment of every day.  I saw the gift of the moment.

When I was a teenager, I became more aware of my body and the workings of it. I learned about cells, tissues, and organs and how they made up the human body.  I learned about the energy of life and the energy of cells.  My body was made up of cells and energy, how fascinating.  I had no idea what was on the inside of me before that day.  It seemed so unreal.  I always thought I was invincible and never-ending, so how could I be made of something so finite?  I grasped onto the concept of cellular life and the spark at the cellular level.  I studied science and nutrition and my understanding grew. I understood the gift of life at a whole new level, which prompted deep gratitude.  I didn’t even have to tell my body to do this stuff, it just did it.  It’s innate cellular consciousness.  I remember walking to school one day and looking at my arms, hands and fingers in intricate detail. I was admiring the artistry and the mobility of my delicate joints.  Again, I was reminded of what was going on at the cellular level and how everything magically works.  My gratitude grew and I saw the gift in the moment.

As I continued on with life, I faced many challenges and not every day was built on a bed of roses. Sometimes I got lost in the darkness and stuck in the muck…and would eventually find myself in a rut.  It didn’t feel so exciting. I would look for a permanent getaway–a free ticket to fairyland to melt my troubles away! That’s why Disney World was so attractive to me as a child. However, instead of dwelling in lack, I decided to look through a different window and to allow a new thought to permeate. How do I create a new reality that I truly enjoy?  Answer: by seeing life as a gift! It’s a present to me by me. I recalled the gracious gift of life I had as a child–and the beauty it brought forth– I could feel a sudden spark of joy.  I felt it in my cells and the space between my cells. Truth calling out to me and asking me to remember the gift of life that began as a child. And to see the rainbow after the storm. All of life’s experiences are good….they are wonderful and divine.  The “good, the bad, and the ugly.”  Yes, it’s truly a gift when one understands this truth.  Each experience is part of the soul journey.

All of this participation brings me to today. Our lives are built by our days and by our wonderful moments. Today is a new gift and a new opportunity for all of us. We can create in every moment of every day.  As we merge into tomorrow, here are some suggestions to keeping your days alive and full:

  • Notice the environment you’re in and observe how you feel. How alive you feel inside. It doesn’t matter what the weather is like—it can be sunny or cloudy, rainy or clear. You’re alive and that’s what counts!
  • Reflect on the magical moments that made up your day.  What was great about the day? What happened, who did you talk to? What did you get excited about? What are you grateful for? Who do you love? Who appreciates you just the way you are? What ideas do you have that spark excitement? Sense everything about your day. Create the emotion you want to feel. What do you see, what do you hear, what do you taste? Take it all in, the taste of life.  Feel the heartbeat of life and become sensitive to all that is around you. It’s another day to be alive, to give, to feel, to grow, to enjoy.  Live, laugh, and love.  Turn up the juice and feel the magic. Love this day because opportunity abounds.  Live with passion and purpose. Your life is a gift, it’s a present from you!

Sifting Through the Stuff

ClothesI am inspired by a fellow Practitioner, who now lives across the pond and has reduced his life to the size of a suitcase. I would like to get around to something like that! The sentiment in itself promises freedom, adventure, limitlessness… and all possibilities. Though now, I feel so anxious with all my stuff. It feels like a paperweight weighing me down, preventing me from flying and being free to be my ultimate true wonderful self. Some days I just want to give it all away… but then I think I would be silly wearing the same thing every day. Not to mention having to do laundry naked would be interesting and a little terrifying!

And just thinking about all the stuff that owns me touches upon my mental hoarding mind that collects all the thoughts and attachments of how I relate and feel about stuff. I think I could be better at being a mindful momenteer if I could rid myself of all my lack luster items.

So with all my energy turned on this subject, I came across a nifty book called The Life – Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo, who shares a process about how to get rid of stuff. I have to say I am overwhelmed by the process. I thought I made it through step one where you tackle all your clothes. The idea behind step one is to gather ALL your clothes, I mean every piece from every corner, nook, basket, crevice, and cranny and place them in a pile. Then pick up each piece one by one and ask simply if it gives you joy. If the answer is no, you simply thank it for its service and put it in an appreciation stack which will later be donated to a new caregiver. The pieces which resonate joy are placed in the second pile to keep. Well… I choked to some degree. I was feeling panicky that none of my clothes gave me joy, so I created a joy scale. It was my work around to shore up and prevent a catastrophe from occurring! I was afraid that I wouldn’t own a stitch of clothing, at the rate I was going. I also discovered that most the clothes I have are to please my job. Apparently, none of my joyful clothes are not allowed at my place of work; this makes me a little sad. What to do about that, I know not the answer, yet. However, I did pack up 3 bags for the GW.  So there was SOME progress there! The process has me stalled to move onto the next step; I feel that I should do the first step over again and just let go enough to put all those non-joy giving clothes in the rightful pile. That is my next bold brave step to take… and like all fears faced, it is best to breathe easy and take one step at time.

Just talking about via this post this has lessened the anxiety… and I feel there may be a hint of excitement taking its place. This could be an adventure in itself! Thanks for giving me space to share my “stuff-lightening” journey!

Priority #1: LOVE YOURSELF

loveyourselfThe saying goes, “we are our own worst critic,” and it is so true!  What I notice most about myself and the clients with whom I work is… we can be really mean and hateful to ourselves. We beat ourselves up for things we felt we should have done better and we often give little credit when appreciation is due.

I did not realize how negative my thoughts were about myself until one day I was at a spa taking a mineral bath.  I decided to go through each of my body parts and send loving thoughts to all of my body, piece by piece.  As I did this and moved around from my eyes, to my nose, to cheeks, chest, stomach and so on, I remembered all the nasty thoughts I had in my past about nearly EVERY single body part.

I had been completely unloving to myself and my physical body. I have had negative thoughts about my nose, my eyes, arms, stomach, thighs, hips, legs, head, feet, hands and on and on. The only body part that I never was cruel to was my ears and elbows!!  Pretty much everything else had been attacked in one way or another.

This is just one example of how my thoughts have been directed towards my body. I could spend another few pages talking about how mean I am about other aspects of my life, but let’s not go there today. You get the point.

I believe many of us experience these discouraging thoughts about ourselves. My goal here today is to let you know you are not alone in this experience. Nearly EVERYONE has these thoughts!

So, what can we do? I have a few tips that can help you shift the energy around how you feel about yourself. These have been effective for me as I am moving towards more self-love and acceptance. These suggestions also help to increase awareness about how you really are treating yourself.

SUGGESTIONS TO LEARN TO LOVE YOURSELF A LITTLE MORE!

  1. Look at yourself, or rather into your eyes every day in front of the mirror and tell yourself how much your love yourself. Let you know how amazing and wonderful you are.  (Sometimes, I can’t quite feel that emotion, so if I’m not “feeling” it that day, I ask that I love myself as much as source/god/creator/the universe loves me).
  2. Find ways to appreciate yourself. Give yourself compliments and encouragement even if you just did something small.  Maybe you went for a walk instead of watching TV.  Give yourself a pat on the back.
  3. Notice when you’re being “mean” or experiencing negative self-talk. Chose a mantra or a phrase that helps to shift from that experience.  My favorite is, “I love and accept myself just the way I am with unconditional love”! Repeat this as needed and even more powerful to do in meditation.
  4. Journal or meditate about your feelings. Some of these lower vibration thoughts and feelings need a place to go and need to be acknowledged.  Release them by writing them out, by meditating on them or allowing the emotion to be expressed.  Sometimes we just need a good cry to let these go.
  5. Practice vigilant self-care every day and every week. Do something every day that supports your well-being.  It could be taking a 10 minute walk or a 10 minute breathing meditation.  It could be to read an inspiring message from a book or article.  Then do something once a week that really makes you happy for at least an hour!
  6. Be patient with yourself. You are here to experience these challenges to overcome them and ultimately come from a place of unconditional love for self and all.  I may be an idealist, but I believe that is our true nature to be in a state of LOVE and we can ALL get there!!

Coming from the perspective that loving yourself is your number one priority allows you to get in touch with who you really are.  It helps you to shift more quickly from less than desired feelings to feelings of joy, happiness, love and peace.  Isn’t that what most of us are striving for?  Enjoying life, helping others and feeling good? If you get in with and follow your heart, you will find your way back to LOVE!

Come Play in Life…Get Out Your Kaleidoscope and Join Me!

LaurelLey_blog2_020216Ever felt as if you were just going through the motions?  Found yourself frowning more than smiling in life? Wondering if this is all life has to offer?  Counting the days, hours, and/or minutes to the next moment you might feel some pleasure, regardless of the source or of how little it might last?  Find yourself doing things which are out of integrity for who you’d like to be in life in order to just feel good about something?  Hesitant to look too closely at your past choices and actions for fear of being overwhelmed by too much emotion, possibly regret?

If so, you’re not alone.  I had felt that way for a good majority of my life, and wasn’t even aware of it.  I was born in 1960 and raised Catholic… including 18 years of Catholic school. In that era, there seemed to be an overriding life philosophy of sacrifice and suffering and just not having “too much” fun. Or, if you did, you were “bucking the system.”  This still seems to be a perception in society, at least in the United States. Otherwise, if you’re having “too much fun,” which usually means enjoying all aspects of life … then you must be “up to something” or “getting away with something”.  I mean, surely we’re not supposed to be enjoying life when others might judge we need to be “upset” or “concerned.”

Yep, I am “up to” enjoying life … I am “getting away” with enjoying all aspects of my life! Nowadays, I look at most aspects of life as fascinating.

Life can be so much more than just plodding through.  Not only is it possible … it’s possible for YOU, AND it doesn’t have to take years or lots of money.  For me, it’s merely taken the willingness to change how I viewed life.

So, if you’re ready to experience the inner shifting of how you view life … If you’re ready to fully experience life including one regularly filled with fun, joy, bliss, happiness, laughter … and most of all, PEACE … then keep on reading.

Regardless of the day-to-day things that can pull at us and our peace, this is within your reach. It’s okay if your health, boss, job, relationship, finances, living situation, anything that has issues – and some seem insurmountable – is not how you want to live in this moment. I found that once I came to look at life fully – when I came to ACCEPT what had happened, what choices I had made and especially what actions I took –  the peace started to come.

So what happened?  What changed my inner perspective?

LaurelLey2_blog3_020216Around 2009, it’s as if a light switch went on.  I realized I just didn’t want to continue to live my life feeling unfulfilled, feeling as if I was subject to the whims of life.  It wasn’t necessarily one thing that turned on the light; it was the accumulation of a series of things. I think I finally got to the point of being “sick and tired” of being miserable and hoping for more.  I became willing to shift and live more.  In retrospect, the things which at the time I labeled “not fair”, “negative”, “bad things” are the ones for which I am now most grateful,

Initially, the peace came in small spurts … then in waves … ebbing and receding …. until one day I realized that it wasn’t the waves which reflected the peace …. it was experiencing the whole of the ocean, whether calm or storms … which reflected the entirety of the tapestry of my life and was key to my inner peace.  When I fully looked into some of the seemingly more painful aspects of my life, I realized I wouldn’t be where I am now without each of those incidents occurring. I thought of the many people whose lives I touched in the simplest of ways, a “hello,” a smile … I wouldn’t be there in that moment unless everything had unfolded in my life how it had!  Was I willing to risk changing my history, not knowing the effect on others?  Instead of longing to have experienced a different history, a different series of pasts … I realized what I could do is change how I viewed it all.

In one of my favorite and enlightening resources of all time – which I was introduced to in 2012 –  an article in Sun Magazine titled “The Prayer for the Body,” Stephen Schwartz says:

This work is an exercise in nonviolence toward oneself — approaching everything we’ve called an enemy with absolute, undeviating love. It is an exercise in personal nonviolence, in treating oneself with the most unbelievable compassion. ….

There are people who would try to bring nonviolence into the world, even though they can’t approach their own loneliness with complete nonviolence. How could they deal with somebody else in a nonviolent way? To know nonviolence means that you have no enemies inside yourself; that your loneliness, your grief, your anger are not your enemies.

A couple of years later (during which time was the beginning of deep self-work) I was introduced to Trinity Energy Progression, and my life began to change in exponential ways. All the pieces snapped into place. I took responsibility for creating the life I want to live NOW, and moving forward.

Across all of the experiences I had, all that I studied, I began to be grateful for everything, every pain, every heartache, and every sadness. I started to love myself, and my entire life. I began to embrace those aspects which were scary. Most importantly to me, I became willing to release my attachment to all of these situations, to looking at life only through a grey lens.  I took out my kaleidoscope, literally, and made a decision to view life through that lens; through multiple reflections.

It was when my relationship with life changed and I have been on an active path to learn to be “grateful” for everything and I mean EVERYTHING ….. to learn to look at every single thing as a mirror for me to have an opportunity to shift how I view life ….. to accept myself, all of my choices and all of my actions … and to have peace about it all.  My attitude, NONE of my attitude has anything to do with anyone else.

Some might think I had an “easier” life then they did and this shift isn’t possible for you with how your life has been … I guarantee you …. IT IS POSSIBLE.  It’s the divine right of each of us to live a life of peace.

The specifics of my path aren’t necessarily relevant as each path is different AND you do NOT have to go through a long, complex process … The interesting paradox is in coming to a place of loving everything about yourself and your life, especially my “past” freed me up to live life in the present.

So, here’s what I suggest you consider doing:

  1. Love yourself; embrace all aspects of yourself;
  2. Cultivate an “attitude of gratitude” …. If there are some things you can’t yet be grateful for, then start at becoming willing to be grateful for those situations and people;
  3. Stop judging anything and everything, including yourself and your life;
  4. Put the focus of YOUR life on YOU ….. no matter what, look at every situation as a reflection of something you are choosing to experience … you CAN do this, it may take practice;
  5. Look at any resistance, any reaction to anyone or any situation as the road map for your inner work …

When you start living your life realizing that YOU can change how you react to anything, you will begin to experience inner peace and a new freedom you could only dream of. Continue on that path, and it will become your reality.

As Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl of “Man’s Search for Meaning” says,

Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

Come on, get out your kaleidoscope and let’s play!  Want to know more?  Feel free to contact me.  I’m always happy to connect, and to play!

With gratitude for my life,
