Choose Connection

Aug15_100_6720_Blog_Laurel4

I have no companion but Love, no beginning, no end, no dawn. The Soul calls from within me: “You, ignorant of the way of Love, set Me free.”  ~ Rumi

She looked and looked
She ran to and fro
She paused
She stopped
She retreated
She wailed and laughed
She looked and looked into the reflections
…. and then she breathed.

It was the breath of knowing;
The breath of trust;
The breath of life.

She accepted the reflection of …

the friends
the lovers
the postman
the sales clerks
the haters
the ones she thought she hated
the mother
the father
the sister
the brother
the children
the teachers
the students
the ones who left
the bosses
the co-workers
the customer service reps
the ones who said “no”
the drivers
the neighbors
the nay-sayers
the cheerleaders
the self.

It was then she found the home she had been looking for, praying for, asking for ….
The one her Soul longed for
…. herself.
It was then that the love affair began.

In the Garden…

A squirrel enjoying breakfast.

No matter what the size, gardens help us to reconnect – with nature, with the earth, with our selves and our higher selves.  I love walking around my patio garden in the mornings, checking on each plant and seeing what is new. There is always something that has changed or that I am just now noticing since the time before.

I enjoy my garden at any time of day, but mornings are my favorite. There’s something about the stillness of the morning that speaks to me and allows me to just BE.  It’s as though I’m the only person around for miles…and I become one with the plants, insects, and other creatures. We feel a gentle breeze together. We hear the birds chirp. We are immortal and exist solely to be what we are as we drink in the first light of daybreak. It is a wonderful time of day!

Time spent in the garden, or in any place where nature is abundant, can help you strip off the day-to-day world and let you return to the truths of your being. All of a sudden you realize that you aren’t worried about that thing at work, or what Susie said to you last Saturday, or whether you are ever going to lose those last five pounds. You simply are. And what you are is wonderful.

Contemplate the miracle of life as you watch a caterpillar hatch from its egg. Look on with amazement at how a morning glory knows to open at the beginning of the day and close at the end. See if you can follow a trail of ants and figure out where they have come from and where they are going. Some of the simplest discoveries are the most enriching. And along the way, marvel in the fact that you are a part of it all.

Although it’s not what most people think of when they hear the word meditation, I find that some of my best meditating and many deep insights come when the rest of my body is focused  on gardening. I think it’s because part of my mind has a task to focus on, which gets it out of the way and allows the rest of me to receive the information. If, like me, you have a mind that seems to run non-stop making sure you are prepared for every single minute of every day lest you forget something or are caught unawares, I suggest you try this technique; I think you will find it very rewarding! As an added benefit, once your mind becomes accustomed to feeling relaxed in your garden, it starts relaxing at other times as well. A very handy thing indeed!

The photos here are some of my most recent discoveries in my garden. I hope you enjoy them!

House For Sale: 4-2-2, 2 Living Areas, Fenced Yard

© Feverpitched | Dreamstime.com - Sold For Sale Sign Over Clouds, Grass And House PhotoNo, this is not a realtor listing… but I’ve moved! Because of my Trinity Energy Progression practice, my mind and spirit have been able to “move out” of my “4-2-2” while my 3D body still lives in my physical house.

Recently, I came across the following quote on the back of a T-shirt and it made me think of how so many obstacles have been removed through my Trinity Energy practice:

“Expansion of Awareness is the Removal of Obstacles.”

Right after receiving the training and entrainment to become a Trinity Energy Practitioner in 2012, I experienced an amazing shift. My awareness began to expand at what seemed like an exponential rate. Partitions/walls began to dissolve and fall away. I began to realize that all the rooms in my mind/spirit house that had been my spiritual home and sanctuary were instead separating me from connecting to the Divine Oneness! The stillness within that I had previously experienced in my house was now felt as a vibration of being connected with the Oneness of the Divine Consciousness. I knew that my awareness was expanding as I went deeper into my true self, and knew that feeling this new connection was possible because I was now able to “remember” the Divine Consciousness that had always been in me. I felt an incredible wholeness, expansiveness and limitlessness. I felt great joy and bliss as I experienced this homecoming to a house without partitions/walls. I was no longer limited in my ability to turn up the light of the Divine to its full brightness because of all the different rooms that I had created in which the ego felt at home:  fear, anxiety, regret, resentment, anger, guilt, doubt, sorrow, pain, drama, trauma, illness, etc.

My ego still shows up at my mind/spirit house, albeit less frequently, but I no longer have any rooms set aside for extended stays. I now live in open spaces filled with love and light where my awareness continues to expand through my Trinity Energy Progression practice.

An Ego’s Confession on the Spiritual Path

I must confess that I feel like I don’t know anything anymore. Everything that I thought I knew just does not seem right. I have lost certainty. I used to think that I had answers, but that feeling is so foreign to me currently. Discussions that were once riveting have started to fade into mindless uninteresting banter. When I listen to other people express their ideas, I am unable to find them interesting. It goes in, and all I think is that they have nothing new to share with me. Even when they are so adamant that this is the newest thing, my mind says we’ve been here before; nothing new here. When I try to listen with my heart, I get the warm feelings of “Yay! They’re coming around!” but hearing age-old ideas being presented as “new” when this information has been so easily accessible for years does not captivate my novelty-seeking mind. I try to let go of judgment when it comes to these situations, but I also find it disingenuous to rebrand concepts that were rejected earlier based on their associations.

I am feeling a bit lost and disillusioned. In order to save and liberate myself, it is time for me to be honest with others and myself. Why must I force myself to feel like I have no voice in order to protect relationships that appear to be one-sided? What am I to do when my ideas are met with accusations of proselytizing or spinning semantics? How should I feel when someone else presents the same ideas later and is met later with glorious applause? Is it my ego that is making me feel like this? I tried to convince myself of this, but this approach is leading to apathy. My ego is also responsible for my thinking that I have to check my ego so that I don’t fall out of line. My present feelings of knowing nothing anymore are a product of “turning the other cheek” over and over again.

After some introspection, the following is how I understand the relationship with the ego. Integrating the ego is not about dissolving it so that you lose your personal feelings and individuality in order to become a listless member of the hive-mind. Integrating the ego with your spiritual being means that you won’t measure your self-worth against others. It means that you will create your reality instead of reacting to the reality that is around you. It is about liberating yourself from self-limiting thoughts and behaviors. Checking your ego doesn’t mean that you cannot assert yourself while another person is leading a diatribe at your expense! A healthy ego will not let another person’s words and actions diminish your feelings of self-worth, and having a healthy ego does not mean capitulating to the other person’s ego. It’s ok to call someone out on their BS; it just may require more tact than it really should in some cases.

But what the hell do I know? I know nothing… That’s ok… Somehow I still feel like I am on my way.
